January 2009 ART EXHIBIT

Paintings by Night Heron Artists - A Group Exhibition
This active group of thirty artists was founded by artist and teacher Adelaide Silkworth, who was Director of the Office of the Aging in Suffolk County for many years. The group is currently based in Port Jefferson Village Center and exhibits all over Long Island. The exhibit includes watercolors of florals, landscapes and seascapes. Many of the paintings have won prizes in juried shows. The Friends of the Library will sponsor a reception for the Night Heron Artists on Sunday, January 11 from 2:30 - 4:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to meet with this creative group of painters.

First Artists Meeting at The Library
January 21, at 7:30 PM
The library has scheduled an information meeting to start a regular get together for artists, photographers, potters and others. It has been suggested many times to form an art group to exchange ideas and view different works or invite a lecturer to speak. Photographer and teacher Jo Anne Dumas has agreed to lead the first meetings at the library. All artists are invited to come and participate.

All works reproduced with permission from the artist.
