AUGUST 2006 ART EXHIBIT
Works by Damon TommolinoDamon Tommolino, a Long Island based artist and art teacher, has shown his work widely in the Metropolitan area. The figurative paintings represent in part a picture of the influence of society on its people. Tommolino strives to create an ambiguity in his work that invites the viewers to ask questions. Damon Tommolino is a co-founder of the "Chimera Group" of artists that recently had a show in Huntington in the Walt Whitman Birthplace. Damon Tommolino's style and use of color is strongly influenced by early German Expressionism and more contemporary cartooning movements. He is represented by the Agora Gallery SOHO and Gallery 4222 in Port Jefferson. Everyone is invited to meet Damon Tommolino at a reception on Saturday, August 5 from 2:30 to 4:00 PM sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
