Encaustic Art
Miniature Wax Paintings by award winning artist Marilyn Gartelman

Encaustic art is a form of painting with warm wax, created in the 4th century by Greek ship builders who used hot wax to fill cracks. By adding pigment to the surface of the hull, it became an art form. Ms. Gartelman creates exquisite small paintings in this form.

The Friends of the Library invite everyone to a reception for both artists on Sunday, February 9, 2:30 – 4:00 PM.

All works reproduced with permission from the artist.
