January 2014 ART EXHIBIT

and In The Glass Case

Paintings by Joanne Johnson and Sculptures by Tim Johnson

Longtime Wading River residents Joanne and Tim Johnson are retired art educators whose works have been exhibited in various galleries and are also part of private collections. Ms. Johnson worked as an art teacher and as an artistic designer for an advertising agency. In this exhibit, Ms. Johnson will show works in pastel, charcoal, batik and watercolor.

While working on his Masters Degree in Fine Arts, Mr. Johnson assisted in creating a 40 foot squid sculpture attacking a sperm whale, which is now a permanent exhibit at the Museum of Natural History. His exhibit at the Library will include three-dimensional works in alabaster, limestone, wood and resin.

The Friends of the Library invite everyone to a reception for the artists on Sunday, January 26, 2:30 - 4:00 PM.
