July 2008 ART EXHIBIT

Paintings by John V. Conti

Mr. Conti is a retired Rehabilitation Commissioner for the US Department of Education and currently a resident of Leisure Glen. Art was always part of his life in various forms. His writings have been published in several journals. Photography and sketching as well as painting filled his free time. In his retirement, Mr. Conti concentrated on painting, including pastels, oils, acrylics and mixed media. His subjects go from still lifes to rural and urban landscapes to intricate geometric designs and portraits. In his works Mr. Conti often tries to involve the viewer in the meaning behind the depicted scene. The Friends of the Library will sponsor a reception for John V. Conti on Saturday, July 12 from 2:30 to 4:00 PM. Everyone is invited to meet with the artist.
