Set in the Ten Thousand Islands off the southwest coast of Florida, it is the story of the Bigtree family of alligator wrestlers whose way of life is being threatened. Tragedy ensues as the daughter in law, a champion alligator wrestler, dies of cancer and the family patriarch is confined to a floating nursing home with dementia. The novel, a take on magical realism, is a “wild ride” and sure to elicit a lively discussion.
