June 2013 ART EXHIBIT

Photography by David Lyons

A local resident, Mr. Lyons works as a photo editor at Newsday. The images on display at the library are quiet moments he captured. Mostly, he selects scenes that represent Americana in various areas of the country. The Southwest, Upstate New York and Long Island are some of his favorite spots to find scenes of early America.

In the Glass Case
Drawings by Joan Rogers

In these small exquisite drawings, Joan Rogers explores the beauty of vegetables. Fascinated by "lines" that surround us everywhere, Ms. Rogers, a well-know artist, explores the lines, shapes and colors of vegetables in these drawings. An added advantage of the subjects is that one can eat them at the next dinner!
