NOVEMBER 2004 EXHIBIT

Paintings and Illustrations by Anna Jurinich

Well-known Long Island artist Anna Jurinich is a graduate of the Parsons School of Design. She won an award from the American Institute of Graphic Art for her book and magazine illustrations. Some of the original drawings for her most recent book illustrations are on view in the glass case, including the finished books Where Do the Balloons Go? and Mamma, si Mangia? Paintings on the library's gallery walls represent Ms. Jurinich's larger works and explore her main theme: the many facets of the human condition. Also on display are landscapes of Tuscany. In 1999 Ms. Jurinich won a New York State Decentralization Grant for a one-woman show at the East End Arts Council. On Sunday, November 14 at 2:30 PM the Friends of the Library will host a reception for the artist. Don't miss meeting Anna Jurinich at the Library. Everyone is invited.
