October 2015 ART EXHIBIT

Paintings by Robert Maggio

After retirement, Mr. Maggio returned to his first love, art. He attended classes at Pratt Institute as a young boy, but for 35 years his talent lay dormant. Most recently, he portrays life in Brooklyn and Manhattan around 1940 and 1950 including streets scenes and landscapes. His pen and ink drawings portray Native American men and women. Mr. Maggio is the recipient of many awards, including those from both the Brookhaven and the Brooklyn Arts and Humanities Councils.

The Friends of the Library invite everyone to meet with Mr. Maggio at a reception on Saturday, October 10, 2:30 – 4:00 PM.
