From the West
Travel the Long Island Expressway (I495) eastbound to Exit 68, William Floyd Parkway (County Road 46) northbound. This road ends at the junction of Route 25A. Proceed east on Route 25A for approximately 1/4 mile and at the first traffic light, turn right onto our campus. This driveway serves as entrance to both our Library and the Shoreham-Wading River High School.

From the East End’s South Fork
Travel the Sunrise Highway (Route 27) to Exit 58, William Floyd Parkway (County Road 46) northbound. This road ends at the junction of Route 25A. Proceed east on Route 25A for approximately 1/4 mile and at the first traffic light, turn right onto our campus. This driveway serves as entrance to both our Library and the Shoreham-Wading River High School.

From the East End’s North Fork

Hours of Operation

Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am – 9 pm, Friday, 9:30 am- 5 pm, Saturday, 9:30 am – 5 pm, Sunday (October 15, 2023 – April 28, 2024) 12 pm – 4 pm.

Please note the following Sunday closures for 2023-2024 in addition to the normal closed Library holidays:

  • January 14, 2024
  • February 18, 2024

The Library will have different hours of operation on the following dates:

  • November 27, 2024 – Closes at 5:00 PM

Book Drop

Where is the Book Drop located?
The Book Drop is located outside the main entrance on the right as you face the building.

When is the Book Drop available?
The Book Drops are available during Library hours of operation.

There will be No Access to the North Shore Public Library’s Book Drop on any day/time that the Library has a change in operating hours during a school event.

Can I put library materials other than books in the Book Drop?
Yes, you can return DVDs, CDs, Books on Tape and CD ROMs into the Book Drop.

What about fines if my materials are returned late?
Fines will be put on your account on the day the items are returned and you will be responsible for them.

How long will my books stay in the Book Drop?
There will be two pick-ups a day.

What should I do if the item is in fragile condition?
You should return the item to the circulation desk instead.
