Drop into the Children’s Room all day on Saturday, October 18, 9:30-5:00 PM. Decorate an eco-friendly tote bag to help us collect balloons to be deposited into our Balloon Mission Organization Collection bin. Use your bag to bring in the balloons you collect!
Young Adult – The Crayon Initiative
We will be collecting unwanted, and broken crayons to donate to The Crayon Initiative. All donated crayons will be melted down and distributed to children in hospitals across the country. Visit the Adult Reference Desk to donate and fill out a form to receive community service. One hour will be awarded for every sandwich sized Ziploc donated.
Adult – Agape Meals for Kids
We are collecting new backpacks for the Agape Meals for Kids 501(c)(3) organization. Each week, volunteers assemble weekend bags consisting of seven meals and on Friday mornings the backpacks are delivered to schools with high rates of food insecure children. Each at-risk food insecure student receives a bag before going home. Backpack donations will be collected at the Circulation Desk.
- Backpack size: roughly 17-20 inches in height, 12-14 inches in width, and 6-8 inches in depth.
