North Shore resident Barbara Hutter is a pastel artist with a passion for painting portraits, landscapes and wildlife. She considers landscapes as colorful portraits of creation gifted to us. This exhibit moves through a varied series of subjects and seasons of Long Island; wildlife, floral, and seascapes. Barbara’s eye for visual likeness is fresh and exciting and conveys a peaceful use of pastel color creating a wonderful drama of and light and shadow. There is an endless source of joy that can be created through a simple use of materials: paper and a few pieces of chalk.
