September 2021 Art Exhibit

Art Exhibition: Creative Stitching, Creating Heirloom Quilts

This exhibition showcases the works of local Fabric Artists: Lynn Fullshire, Roberta Leonard, and Barbara Ryan. Stitching has long been a part of women’s and men’s lives throughout history.  The art of the stitch has served families in many varied ways.  Stitching has been seen as a necessary task, a means to express creativity and bring color into difficult days, a way to create memories and honor the past, self-expression and healing may be the fruits of a stitcher’s labors, as well as a way to celebrate special life cycle moments like birth and marriage.  Today’s stitchers create quilts, embroidered items and so much more, enjoying their link to both the past and the future. Quilters gift quilts to help facilitate healing of the heart, soul and the body.

These works have been reproduced with permission from the artist.
