The Great Give Back Donation Drive

Stop into the North Shore Public Library between September 1 and October 31 and be part of The Great Give Back! There are many ways to be part of the Give Back! See below for more details!

Children’s Department

• In collaboration with Long Island Lending a Helping Hand, we will be collecting toiletry items for local families in need from October 1-31. Drop off any donations to the Children’s Department.
  • Toiletry Drive Items Needed:
    • Shampoo/Conditioner
    • Bar Soap
    • Toothpaste
    • Deodorant
    • Razors
    • Feminine Products
    • Toilet Paper
• Birthday Smiles Tote Bags
  • Saturday, October 17, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Families are invited to join us in the Children’s Department to decorate tote bags for the Birthday Smiles Program at LILAHH. Decorated Tote Bags will be filled with birthday supplies and given out to local families in need.

Young Adult Department

• From 9/1 – 10/31 we will be collecting handmade cards for veterans under the care of Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson.
  • Cards can be made at home, or stop by for one of our scheduled card making sessions listed below.
  • Please refer to our website for card making guidelines.
  • One hour will be awarded for every 5 cards donated.
  • Visit the Adult Reference Desk to donate and fill out a form to receive community service.
