Below you will find all Children’s programs through October, including their registration dates and other information!
October Programs
Registration is required for all programs, unless otherwise noted. Registration for October programs begins Monday, October 2, at 9:30 AM. Child’s age/grade MUST be entered in the note field in order to confirm registration. Each child must be registered using their own library card. Each library card only reserves one spot per program.
Online registration is recommended. Program space is limited and classes fill quickly.
Monster Hunt
Can you find all the monsters hiding in the Children’s Room? Visit the library between Monday, October 23 – Sunday, October 29 to see if you can spot them all. Earn a special spooky tattoo and be entered into our raffle for a chance to win a prize!
October In Person/In Library Programs
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED – Child’s name and age/grade MUST be entered in the note field in order to confirm registration. Each library card only reserves one child per program.
- Children Entering Kindergarten and up attend programs independently unless otherwise noted.
- Late Arrival Guidelines: A grace period of 10 minutes will be given to patrons attending a program. Admittance after this arrival time is at the discretion of the library staff.
Totally Two’s Storytime, Age 2 years with a parent/caregiver

Enjoy this themed storytime where families will hear stories, sing songs, and create a simple craft.
Storytime, Pre-K, Ages 3 & 4 years
Thursdays, October 5, 12, & 19, 10:15-11:00 AM OR 1:15-2:00 PM
Register for this 3-week class featuring stories, songs, rhymes, and more! Our storytimes foster a love of reading and promote the development of early literacy skills. Each class will end with a theme-related craft! Children attend this storytime independently.
Author Adventure, Grades K-2
Thursday, October 5, 4:45 – 5:30 PM
Help us shout “No, David!” as we listen to stories by David Shannon and create a fun craft.
Toddler Time, Ages 12-35 months with a parent/caregiver
Tuesdays, October 10, 17, 24, 10:15-11:30 AM
Register for this 3-week session! Toddlers will enjoy interacting with other toddlers in a setting designed to encourage free play and exploration. Children and adults will enjoy music, crafts, toys, and a circle time.
Code Breakers Club, Grades 3-5
Wednesday, October 11, 6:00-7:00 PM
Do you have what it takes to solve the code? Find the hidden objects, figure out the clues and solve the puzzle to earn your prize and “escape the library.”
Stay & Play, Ages 6-35 months with a parent/caregiver
Saturday, October 14, 10:15-11:30 AM
Can’t make it to our daytime programs? Join us in this family-friendly weekend class. Enjoy manipulatives, building blocks, playtime with friends, a simple craft, and circle-time songs!
Pumpkin Painting, Ages 3 years – Grade 5 with a parent/caregiver
Sunday, October 15, 1:15-2:00 PM
Each child must be registered individually. “Pick” a pumpkin and use paint to create a unique design. We’ll supply the pumpkins and paint. Dress for a mess! This program will take place outside, weather permitting.
Baby Start, Birth-17 months with a parent/caregiver

Adults and babies will bond in this interactive program that includes music, movement, fine and gross motor skills, and a circle time!
Popcorn & Pajamas, Ages 3 years – Grade 5 with a parent/caregiver
Wednesday, October 18, 6:00-7:30 PM
Wear your coziest pajamas and bring your blankets for our movie and pajamas night! Watch Hotel Transylvania on our big screen, enjoy popcorn and juice, and create a Halloween craft.
Tots Night Out: Harvest Owl, Ages 18 months – 4 years with a parent/caregiver
Thursday, October 19, 6:00-7:00 PM
Come join A Time for Kids in this fun and fast-paced preschool readiness program. Children and adults will work side by side through music, movement, fine and gross motor activities, as well as a storytime. Everyone will celebrate the season by making a fun owl craft!
Li’l Explorers: Water, Pre-K, Ages 3 & 4 years with a parent/caregiver

Spooktacular Yoga, Grades K-2

Practice beginner yoga poses themed for Halloween while playing spooky yoga games. Please bring a yoga mat or a towel.
Not-so-Scary Halloween, Pre-K, Ages 3 & 4 years with a parent/caregiver
Wednesday, October 25, 10:15-11:00 AM
Dress in costume and join Miss Dara as we celebrate a musical Halloween. Sing fun stories about ghosts, jack o’lanterns and more Halloween fun!
Monster Brownies, Grades 3-5
Wednesday, October 25, 5:30-6:30 PM
Decorate three Monster Brownies. Use candy and drape chocolate over marshmallows to make this tasty treat.
Halloween Party, Family, All Ages
Thursday, October 26, 6:00-7:30 PM
Visit the library between 6:00 and 7:30 PM and see how the library is transformed into a Halloween headquarters! Enjoy some holiday games and to collect Spooktacular Treats!
