REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED – Child’s name and age/grade MUST be entered in the note field in order to confirm registration. Each library card only reserves one child per program.

  • Children Entering Kindergarten and up attend programs independently unless otherwise noted.
  • Children in Grades Kindergarten and up must be registered using their own North Shore Public Library card.
  • Late Arrival Guidelines: A grace period of 10 minutes will be given to patrons attending a program. Admittance after this arrival time is at the discretion of the library staff.


Chalk Art Festival, All Ages with a parent/caregiver

Join us for an evening where you can let the concrete be your canvas. Create beautiful works of art that express your individuality with sidewalk chalk. Registration is suggested.

Come join A Time for Kids in this fun and fast-paced preschool readiness program. Children and adults will work side by side through music, movement, fine and gross motor activities, as well as a storytime. End the class by making a fun craft!

Registration began Friday, June 20. Kick off the summer with Nature Nick and his animals from around the world! Families will have a meet and greet with many different animals!

We will help your family build a tent in the Children’s Room! Once you have your tent completed, we invite you to craft a camp-themed project and curl up with a book in your special space! A classic campout treat will be served!


Family LEGO Day, Ages 3 year – Entering Grade 5 with a parent/caregiver

Friday, July 18 and Wednesday, August 13, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Bring the whole family to our special LEGO Day! Families will work together to make their own creations or everyone can build individually. Come with your imagination; we will supply all of the LEGOs!

What happens when you put a Talented Tuna, a Colorful Bug Collector, a Magic Paint Brush and a Wonder Chicken in the same room with unlimited art supplies? You get Steve Petra’s Carnival of Colors.
Carnival of Colors is a ventriloquist show for the whole family. Featuring a cast of colorful puppets, comedy illusions, music and audience participation.
